Donaldson, Bautista in the lineup as Blue Jays take on Rangers in Game 2

TORONTO – Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson and right fielder Jose Bautista will be in the lineup for Game 2 on Friday despite suffering injuries in Game 1 of the American League Divisional Series opener on Thursday.

Donaldson suffered a head injury while sliding into second base on a double play in the fourth inning and Bautista was diagnosed with a leg cramp.

Donaldson passed concussion tests Thursday while Bautista wasn’t expected to miss any time with a tight hamstring.

The Jays dropped Game 1 against the underdog Rangers by a score of 5-3.

Marcus Stroman is getting the start against the Rangers’ Cole Hamels in Game 2 of the best-of-five series. Game time is 12:45 p.m. ET.

The Jays announced the Rogers Centre roof will be closed.

A loss on Friday means the Jays will face elimination as the club heads to Texas for Game 3 and 4.

A sellout crowd of 49,834 saw playoff action at the Rogers Centre for the first time since the Jays won the World Series in 1993.

Fans attending the game are once again being reminded to use public transit to get to the stadium.

A number of temporary road closures will also be in effect prior to and after the end of the game.
