Long Island doctor dead after being found in NYC doorway

A Long Island, N.Y. doctor was pronounced dead at a Manhattan hospital Sunday after being found unconscious in a Chelsea doorway.

Dermatologist Kiersten Cerveny, a married mother of three, was found unconscious in a Chelsea doorway around 8:30 a.m. Sunday and was rushed to hospital.

Police sources said Cerveny was originally out on the town with friends — one of whom told police the doctor was taking cocaine and drinking — when she met up with a man at a Lower East Side bar. Sources said Cerveny and the man left her friends and headed to Chelsea – where they met up with a second man, who lives in the building where she was found incapacitated.

Police sources said surveillance video caught both men carrying Cerveny’s body to the building’s front door. They say one of them called 911 but both left before police arrived.

The New York Daily News has reported that one of the men who left the doctor in the doorway was producer Marc Johnson.

A source also told the paper that the pair were partying at the home of alleged drug dealer, James (Pepsi) Holder.

“Based on the preliminary finds we are not treating this as a homicide case,” a police source told the newspaper Monday.

“There is nothing at this point to suggest criminal activity.”

An autopsy on Cerveny has been completed and the preliminary findings are said to be “consistent with cocaine use,” the source told the New York Daily News.
