WINNIPEG — Inside a manufacturing plant on Logan Avenue, Federal Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau made a campaign stop in Winnipeg Tuesday promising more help for small businesses.

Taking selfies with plant staff in their white paint outfits and shaking hands with workers, Trudeau said if elected he’d spent $300 million a year for three years on supports for small business, like research facilities.

“Liberals will make much-needed investments now, not a decade from now so businesses and entrepreneurs can succeed, grow and innovate,” said Trudeau.

A recent poll conducted by Probe Research shows the liberals and conservatives in a tight race in Manitoba.

The liberals are hoping to secure seats in Winnipeg ridings that have been dominated by other parties. This includes Winnipeg Centre, which is currently held by NDP M.P Pat Martin.
