MONTREAL – Twelve jurors have been selected in the first-degree murder case of former cardiologist Guy Turcotte in Saint-Jérôme.

They are seven men and five women.

Judge André Vincent spent the last week hearing exemption arguments and the court selected 12 people from the remaining 355 possible candidates.

Turcotte’s lawyers were able to recuse up to 20 candidates without saying why.

After that, they could refuse any number of jurors with a valid reason.
