Moncton man in critical condition after Church Street assault

MONCTON, N.B. – Police say a New Brunswick man is in hospital in critical condition after an alleged assault in Moncton.

RCMP say officers were called to an assault on Church Street around 2 a.m. Saturday.

They say police found a man in his mid-20s unconscious on the sidewalk with serious injuries.

Investigators believe the man was assaulted by at least two suspects, who fled the scene before officers arrived.

The victim remains in hospital in critical condition.
