1 dead in crash west of Prince Albert, Sask.

CRUTWELL, Sask. – One person is dead following a crash in Saskatchewan. The collision happened Tuesday afternoon on Highway 3, one kilometre west of the hamlet of Crutwell.

Mounties say a westbound semi and an eastbound car collided in the westbound lane of the highway. The semi ended up in a slough while the car went into a ditch.

The driver of the car, a 78-year-old Lloydminster man, was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The driver of the semi, a 70-year-old Regina man, was taken to Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert with minor injuries.

Highway 3 at the crash scene was closed for several hours while police carried out their investigation.

Crutwell is approximately 20 kilometres west of Prince Albert.
