EDMONTON – Alberta Health Services has a new top administrator. Health Minister Sarah Hoffman has named David Carpenter to the post.
Carpenter is a former mayor of Lethbridge and a former chairman of the Workers’ Compensation Board.
The job includes overseeing governance and decision-making at the health-delivery agency, which has a budget of about $13 billion.
Carpenter replaces Carl Amrhein, who is now deputy minister of health.
The government appointed an official administrator at Alberta Health Services in 2013 to act in place of a board of directors.
