TORONTO — Canadian rock couple Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne have forked out $5.4 million for a faux-chateau in California.
The 733-square-metre mansion on a 2,500-square-metre lot on Longridge Avenue in upscale Sherman Oaks has six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms.
The 40-year-old Nickelback frontman and Lavigne, 30, celebrated their second anniversary on Canada Day. Kroeger was recently diagnosed with a cyst on his vocal cords and Lavigne is recovering from Lyme Disease.
The home was purchased on June 18 via a Vancouver-based corporation.
Built in the late ’80s, the house boasts a gym, home theatre, maid’s quarters, and a three-car garage. There is also an in-ground pool, fire pit and spa.
Kroeger and Lavigne, who had another home in Los Angeles, are reportedly keeping their home in rural Ontario.
In 2013, Kroeger sold the six-bedroom estate on North Burgess Avenue in Abbotsford, B.C. that he bought in 2002 with then-partner Marianne Goriuk. Lavigne sold her Bel Air home in 2012 for $8.5 million.
