REGINA – Multiple funnel clouds have been spotted in Southern Saskatchewan Monday afternoon.
Several people reported seeing funnel clouds in the sky around Moose Jaw.
Environment Canada says these types of funnel clouds are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. This weak rotation is normally not a danger near the ground. However, there is a chance that this rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado.
The weather agency is also advising that if you do see funnel clouds in the area to take the situation seriously and begin to look for shelter.
