The Georgia Bureau of Investigation released dashcam footage of a violent confrontation between a 60-year-old man and police Monday morning.
Troup County Deputy Stephen D’Angelo was responding to a call from concerned neighbours who said that Terry Caldwell had fired a gun.
The video shows Caldwell sitting on a lawn chair in his carport, yelling unintelligibly at the officer and waving his arms.
D’Angelo can be heard asking Caldwell what he has in his hand. Caldwell continues to yell but doesn’t answer the question.

Suddenly, Caldwell reaches over to his side, raises the AK-47-style weapon and fires twice, but misses.
The deputy responded with four shots, striking the man in the elbow and thigh.
Caldwell eventually lowered his weapon after waving it around even after he was hit. The video then shows him sipping from a can and smoking nonchalantly.
According to the GBI, Caldwell was transported to hospital where he was being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
