REGINA – In a stunning upset, the Saskatoon Valkyries were eliminated by the Regina Riot Sunday. The Valkyries were attempting to book a spot at their fifth straight Western Women’s Canadian Football League (WWCFL) championship game but were halted.
The Riot hosted the four-time defending league champion in the prairie conference final at Mosaic Stadium.
After four quarters of football, the Riot were victorious 31-29.

This is the third loss for Saskatoon in franchise history and all were against Regina.
The Riot will play the Edmonton Storm next for their first ever WWCFL championship Saturday in Winnipeg.
