There’s now a dating app for your dog — it’s called ‘Tindog’

WATCH ABOVE: It’s like Tinder, but for dogs and their humans. Tindog is the new app helping dog lovers find like-minded friends for themselves and for their pooches.

TORONTO — Dating apps have gone to the dogs. Literally. A new online service dubbed ‘Tindog‘ is essentially Tinder for pooches. And its creators hope there will be more than puppy love (pardon the puppy pun).

It’s described as “the first social app for dog lovers who want to connect with other owners nearby that share a similar passion for canines. Whether it’s to build new friendships or make a love connection, Tindog is a fun way to find the ‘pawfect’ match with a little help from our furry friends.”

So basically, you use your pup as a wingman. Because who can resist those puppy eyes?

“Dogs bring so much joy and love, that they really have the power to connect us. That’s why we wanted to make it easy for dog lovers to meet new people around them who feel the same way,” said Julien Muller, Founder & CEO of Holidog, in a release.

Based on GPS location, Tindog will suggest nearby matches. Like Tinder, if both users swipe right, then it’s a match and they arrange a play date.

This isn’t the first dating app to be inspired by Tinder. Earlier this year, Hinge, which has touted itself as a “classier Tinder,” came to Canada.  CEO Justin McLeod described it as more like meeting people at a “friend’s house party” than the random matching that goes on in many other apps in the marketplace.

There’s also Luxy, “which works a lot like Tinder,” its spokesperson said, “except this is Tinder minus the poor people.”
