As many broadcasters know, live TV is a challenge. You never know what might happen in the moment.
Throw a fidgety cat into the mix and you’ve got mayhem.
Senji, a one-year-old kitten, joined the CBS Minnesota News At Noon crew as a part of their weekly segment “Pets of the Week.”
“I could not help but notice how well behaved they are!” said co-anchor Kim Johnson during the segment. “They’re normally so jumpy and you can’t even hold them for a second.”

Maybe the show producers were so impressed that they decided to pair Senji up with weather anchor Matt Brickman.
But Senji was done with being paraded around on TV.
As soon as Brickman started his weather segment, Senji was on a mission to remove himself from the anchor’s arms.
Johnson even changed her tune. “That cat does not look comfortable,” she said pointing at Senji.
“Stick with me Senji! We’re going to get through this,” Brickman pleaded.

And for a moment Senji seemed to be content with the situation, but as soon as the weather graphics start showing storms and lightning rolling through Minnesota, the cat got jumpy.
“I know! It’s very scary,” Brickman told Senji as he attempted to wrangle him in. “Wait! We can make it, we can make it!”
Eventually, Brickman gave up on Senji saying, “I can’t rock you like a baby! That doesn’t actually work.” He passed the cat on to Johnson.
Perhaps pets and weather anchors innately do not mix.
