Eskimos beat Roughriders 31-24 in Fort McMurray

FORT McMURRAY, Alta. – Derel Walker caught a 36-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter as the Edmonton Eskimos rallied to beat the Saskatchewan Roughriders 31-24 on Saturday in Canadian Football League pre-season action.

Justin Goltz threw the pass to Walker and finished the night 2 for 3 for 44 yards and a touchdown.

James Franklin rushed in for two touchdowns for the Eskimos while Etauj Allen had one.

Darian Durant started behind centre for Saskatchewan for the first time since a season-ending elbow injury last September. He completed 4 of 8 passes for 42 yards while playing all but one series in the first quarter.

Free-agent signing Kevin Glenn would replace Durant and threw for 73 yards while completing eight passes and a touchdown. Brett Smith threw the Riders other touchdown and finished 5 for 6 and 99 yards.

The Eskimos took a 14-11 lead into halftime.
