Calgary Transit to offer discounted day passes during 2015 Stampede

Stampede Park midway. Global Calgary

CALGARY – For the first time ever, Calgary Transit is offering discounted day passes during the Calgary Stampede.

The pilot project announced on Tuesday will see reduced-rate passes sold from July 2nd to 12th, 2015.

During that time, Adult day passes will be $6.50 instead of $9.50 and Youth day passes will be $4.50 instead of $6.75.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Calgary Transit Director Doug Morgan says the change comes at a time when parking in the downtown core is at a premium and “cabs are always in demand.”

To validate the pass, customers just have to scratch the day they are travelling prior to boarding a CTrain or bus.

The passes are already available at Calgary Transit’s customer service centre, 7-Eleven, Mac’s and Safeway stores. They will also be sold through ticket vending machines at CTrain stations during the ten days of Stampede.
