TORONTO – Sometimes, even police officers need rescuing.
It’s hardly a surprise, considering cops and other first responders are often in the most dangerous of situations, at the most inopportune of times.
And that’s exactly what happened Friday morning in Dallas, Texas, as an unidentified Dallas PD officer had to be hoisted from his police vehicle by helicopter due to heavy flooding.

And he’s not the only one – CBS News reports that tow truck drivers are out in force, trying to pull stranded vehicles to safety all over Dallas County, adding that police are describing the situation as “overwhelming”.
Recent storms have caused widespread flooding in the southern Plains and have been blamed for the deaths of 20 people in Texas and four in Oklahoma. Fourteen people in Texas also remain missing.
