Halle Berry is returning to the small screen for a second season of Extant in a role the veteran actress says has “been wildly fun to play.”
Berry said her character, Molly Woods, is “more sexualized” this season.
“She’s tougher, she’s stronger,” Berry said. “Last year was a self-contained thing… we didn’t know if we’d be coming back.”
The Academy-Award winner told ET Canada about the new storylines Extant was able to explore in the upcoming season, including her character having to deal with both of her unusual sons — one, a robot, the other, half alien.
“Having children, I do think there’s just something subconscious that’s probably in my work that comes from being a real mother,” Berry revealed. “There’s things I say and things I do, I sometimes catch myself touching Pierce in a way I recognize touching my very own daughter. It’s almost a deja vu moment.”
The season premiere of Extant airs on Global on July 1.
