Flag person struck near Spalding, Sask. still in intensive care

SASKATOON – A 21-year-old flag person who was hit in a collision that killed three other people this past weekend remains in intensive care, according to a family member. Sam Fetherston has multiple injuries and remains in a drug-induced coma.

Global News has been in touch with Fetherston’s mother who arrived in Saskatoon Tuesday night from her home in B.C.

The crash happened Sunday on Highway 6 south of Spalding, Sask.

Three boys from Carrot River, Sask., ages 14, 15 and 17, were killed when their car was rear-ended by a semi-tractor as they waited, parked in a construction zone.

Their car hit a truck which then hit Fetherston who was on the job.

RCMP say the collision analysis could take as long as a month.
