TORONTO – It isn’t quite ”Avengers Assemble.”

But on the weekend where the distinguished competition dominated the box office with Avengers: Age of Ultron, Warner Brothers released the first cast photo of their own, somewhat less-than-super-heroic team-up movie.

On Sunday, director David Ayer tweeted the first official cast photo of the upcoming Suicide Squad, a sort of comic book Dirty Dozen that sees some of the most notorious villains of the DC universe team up under the command (or is it control?) of a shadowy government agency.

The photo came nearly a month after Ayer shared the first photo of the cast — minus Jared Leto and Scott Eastwood.

The new shot shows off some the film’s impressive ensemble cast, while also revealing several characters for the first time.

Chief among them is Will Smith’s Deadshot, an assassin and longtime Batman foe known for his unerring accuracy and assortment of ranged weaponry.

Ayers later tweeted a solo shot of Smith as Deadshot, including the character’s iconic full-face mask and cybernetic eye.

Also of note was Margot Robbie’s Dr. Harleen Quinzel, AKA Harley Quinn, a one-time psychiatrist at the fictional Arkham Asylum who becomes smitten by the Joker, eventually becoming his sidekick and love interest.

The photo also gives a glimpse of Canadian actor Adam Beach as Slipknot, Terminator: Genisys star Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, British model Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, The Killing star Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo.

Filming of Suicide Squad runs until the end of August in Toronto and is scheduled to be released in August 2016.
