Subway robberies may be resolved without a trial

A B.C. man facing robbery charges will be back in Lethbridge court on Friday
Chad Hansen’s lawyer appeared in Lethbridge court Wednesday but his matter was adjourned until Wednesday.
Hansen and Nicholas Funk, both 21, are accused of robbing two Lethbridge Subway restaurants last year. In his previous court appearance, Hansen’s lawyer said she wants his matters to be resolved without going to trial. She stated today that she now expects things to be concluded on Friday.
LRPS reported on November 17, 2014 that a man armed with a shotgun entered the Subway restaurant in the 3700 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South, threatened staff and demanded money.
No one was injured, but the suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing through the back door.
Two days later, a masked man entered the Subway restaurant in the 1600 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South. In that incident, employees ran to a neighboring business and called police.
Surveillance footage showed the suspect carrying a shotgun and wearing clothing similar to the subject in the previous Subway robbery.
