TORONTO – Toronto Maple Leafs and Raptors fans will soon have to step through metal detectors before entering the Air Canada Centre for home games next season.

A spokesperson for Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) tells the Toronto Sun talks are already in place to purchase equipment needs for staff and personnel.

Further details of the increased security measures will be released later this summer.

The Rogers Centre, home to the Blue Jays, made a similar move for the beginning of the season after Major League Baseball approved the new security policy last year.
