Winnipeg Jets prepare for the playoffs

WINNIPEG — The playoff bound Jets arrived home Friday morning to a city full of ecstatic fans.

A few players who haven’t been in action lately skated at the MTS Centre Friday including Dustin Byfuglien.

The Jets recalled rookie goaltender Connor Hellebuyck from the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League Friday morning. He will be one of several players getting a chance to step up in the Jets final regular season home game against Calgary.

Head coach Paul Maurice said there will be a lot of movement in the lines during the game so certain players can get some rest. He also said Mathieu Perreault, who left Thursday’s game with an injury, will not play Saturday.

Both teams have already clinched playoff spots so there are no implications heading into the matchup.

Winnipeg could play St. Louis or Anaheim in the first round of the playoffs, which are set to start next week. Both of those teams also play Saturday.

Jets staff said majority of fans are ready to purchase their playoff tickets, which go on sale Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Tickets will range from $107.75 to $340.

“We’re looking at less than 1,000 tickets per game,” said the team’s communication manager Scott Brown.
