A "Burnbook" app is stirring controversy across North America, with critics saying it encourages cyberbullying.

Remember the Burn Book in the 2004 hit movie, Mean Girls?

Now there’s an app for that. Parents and teachers across the U.S. are expressing outrage over a new anonymous social networking app that they say is designed to encourage cyberbullying.

The app – aptly called Burnbook – allows users to post “jokes, fails, shout outs, revelations, proclamations and confessions” on message boards. Users can find local communities, which are sectioned off by schools.
