A 54-year-old man has been arrested following an assault of two sex trade workers in Nanaimo on March 5.
Nanaimo RCMP said the incident involved a male attacking two females with a piece of two-by-four near the intersection of Prideaux Street and Victoria Road. According to witnesses, the victims and suspect may have had a verbal exchange before the assault.
The two female victims did not need medical attention after the attack.
Mounties located the suspect and is recommending charges of assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
The man was released on March 5 on the condition to have no contact with the victims.
His first court date is set for June 16 in Nanaimo Provincial Court.
