SAPPORO, Japan – Canada will play Switzerland for the gold medal at the world women’s curling championship in Sapporo, Japan.
Jennifer Jones and her Winnipeg rink led from start to finish in defeating Russia 7-4 in nine ends in today’s semi-final.

The Canadians jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two ends, added two more in the fourth and singles in the seventh and eighth.
The Russian squad, which will play Scotland for the bronze, managed one point in the third, two in the 6th and a final point in the ninth.
Jones now has a shot at redemption after losing 6-4 to Switzerland’s Alina Paeta in the one-two Page playoff.
Canada leads all countries with 15 gold medals and 31 podium appearances at the world championship since 1979. Sweden is next with eight gold and 23 total medals.
