Second winter storm in three days brings snow, wind to New Brunswick

FREDERICTON – For the second time in three days a large storm is battering parts of Atlantic Canada with snow and high winds.

Snow and wind gusts of up to 70 kilometres an hour are causing snow drifts and visibility problems throughout the region.

Most New Brunswickers in the central and southern regions of the province woke up to 20 centimetres of snow.

Environment Canada has issued blowing snow advisories for the Moncton and Saint John areas.

The storm has closed schools in the Anglophone west, south, east and some in the northern school districts, as well as Francophone south and northwest districts.

New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization has asked New Brunswickers to postpone unnecessary travel.
