Pedestrian struck by car in Dartmouth dies in hospital

HALIFAX – A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the Halifax area has died of his injuries.

The 60-year-old was crossing Pleasant Street in Dartmouth on Saturday when he was struck.

He was pronounced dead at hospital, but his name was not released.

The fatality happened on a night when two other people were also struck by vehicles in the Halifax area.

Police say a vehicle ran into a 53-year-old man while he was crossing Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth.

The driver was charged with failing to yield.

Earlier in the evening, a 34-year-old man was hit while crossing Herring Cove Road in Halifax.

He was taken to the hospital, but is expected to survive his injuries.
