WINNIPEG – Volunteer fire departments just outside Winnipeg were scrambling Monday afternoon to respond to a large house fire.
Global’s Skyview-1 helicopter was overhead the scene on Pipeline Road just north of the Perimeter Highway in West St. Paul at about 5 p.m.
Seven people from two families lived in the home according to witnesses at the scene.
No one was injured during the blaze that started in one of two cars in the garage. One occupant was in the garage when the fire started but got out safely.
Crews were coming from West St. Paul, Stony Mountain and St. Andrews to help douse the flames. The blaze was under control shortly after 6 p.m.
There’s no official word on the cost of the damage done to the home.
