SALMON ARM – Students at Shuswap Middle School are back in class after starting their day outside on the school field. For the third time in less than two months, writing on a bathroom wall was discovered Thursday morning that indicated there may be a bomb in the school.

As was the case with the two previous incidents, it turned out to be a hoax and students were able to get inside the school shortly after that. An assembly was called and RCMP officers once again addressed the seriousness of the hoax with students saying public mischief charges could be laid against the student or students responsible.
RCMP say one student has already confessed to making a fake threat, which led to one of the school evacuations last month.
School principal Silke Yardley says it’s a shame that one or two students are making poor choices.
