Should senior drivers be retested regularly in order to keep their licence?. YouTube

A 92-year-old Wisconsin man has been allowed to keep his driver’s licence despite slamming into nine cars in a parking lot Friday.

Russell Kerr backs his minivan out of its parking spot, pulls forward and goes head-on into the back of the neighbouring vehicle, and it’s all caught on video. It only gets worse from there.

After hitting six vehicles, another ill-fated turn causes his van to collide with two pick-up trucks. One driver gets out and chases Kerr on foot.

The remarkable part about this story is that Kerr will keep his licence because police simply don’t have the authority to take his licence away. There is no age restriction on senior drivers. Licences just need to be renewed every eight years and applicants may have to undergo a vision test.
