Snow woes not over yet

HALIFAX – Snow removal crews will continue to haul away snow from congested streets and intersections overnight Friday in preparation for even more snow this weekend.

A media release from the city says crews have been working around the clock to address problem areas, focusing on cul-de-sacs and bus stops, pushing back and removing snow banks, as well as widening intersections and turning lanes across the HRM. Close to 1,900 dump truck loads of snow have already bee removed. Work will be taking place between 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on the following streets:

•Bedford Row

•Agricola Street between Cunard and Almon streets

•Quinpool Road between Robie Street and the Armdale Rotary

•Henry Street between South Street and Coburg Road

•Vernon Street between Coburg Road and South Street

•College Street

•Fenwick Street

•Victoria Road between Queen and Ochterloney streets

•Ochterloney Street between Dundas and Maple streets

•Queen Street between Victoria and Irishtown roads
