The YWCA has announced its yearly “Women of Distinction” award winners. The awards are given to women who make a difference in their community, either as individuals of as part of a group. This year’s six winners are:
Hali Heavy Shield – Education & Mentorship
Kristin Krein – Arts, Culture & Heritage
Alison Lee – Young Woman of Promise
Janene Moch – Community Leadership & Enhancement
Lyndsay Montina – Leadership & Management
Lucelle Prindle – Entrepreneurship & Innovation
According to YWCA Board President Robin Foreman, the Women of Distinction are recognized across Canada as one of the most prestigious awards for women.
“Women and girl leadership is a real priority for the YWCA, and to really highlight those leadership achievements is something that is really special for us.”
The six winners will be honoured at a ceremony March 6th at the Lethbridge Lodge. All funds raised at the event will go towards the YWCA Lethbridge and District, which helped over 6000 women last year.
