PHOTOS: Van crashes into Toys R’ Us on Broadway in Vancouver

VANCOUVER – On Wednesday afternoon a van crashed through the storefront of the Toys R’ Us on Broadway in Vancouver.

The van hit the diaper section of the Babies R’ Us around 12:20 p.m.

The driver, Adrian Nardo, said he was heading eastbound on Broadway when a small red Chevy truck blew through the intersection without stopping at the stop sign.

“So I was coming like that, so I basically T-boned him, spun and then ended up in the Toys R’ Us right here,” said Nardo.

“It was like being in the movie, man, like seriously, it was crazy.”

Nardo, who is a 17-year RoadStar with ICBC, said he had to climb out the back doors as both the driver and passenger side doors were stuck.

“It could have been a lot worse,” he said.

The driver of the Chevy truck was taken to hospital in stable condition.
