WINNIPEG — Manitoba has formed a commission to come up with ideas to improve its early learning and child-care system.
Family Services Minister Kerri Irvin-Ross says the goal is to have a high-quality, affordable program that would be available to anyone who needs it.
She says the government must ensure that every parent has an equal opportunity to have a job and must provide every child with the best start to succeed.
The government says it will appoint someone to lead the commission in the coming weeks.
The commission is to report back by next January.
