Fans in final preparations for Super Bowl

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) – Forget about Deflategate. Forget about Marshawn Lynch and his lack of talking and forget about Tom Brady’s cold.

The time has come to play some football.

The 49th Super Bowl takes centre stage today as the AFC Champion Patriots square off with the NFC Champion Seahawks.

Seattle has won five consecutive playoff games and head coach Pete Carroll is 7-2 in post-season with the Seahawks.

Seattle’s Russell Wilson is the youngest quarterback to start two Super Bowls and the first signal-caller to start two Super Bowls in his first three years in the league.

New England coach Bill Belichick (BEHL’-ih-chik) and quarterback Tom Brady are making their sixth Super Bowl appearance. They have won three times. Belichick’s 21 postseason victories are the most by any coach in NFL history and Brady’s 20 wins are the most by any starting quarterback.

This is the first post-season meeting between the clubs and if this stat means anything, they’ve split the 18 regular-season games they’ve played.
