One dead after Highway 4 crash near Elrose, Sask.

ELROSE, Sask. – At least one person is dead after a crash Monday morning. The collision happened around 11:15 a.m. on Highway 4 near Elrose, Sask. after a semi-tractor trailer unit and a passenger vehicle collided about five kilometres south of the community.

A woman was declared dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

Two people were injured and have been taken to hospital. There is no word on their condition.

Highway 4 is currently closed in both directions from Elrose to approximately five kilometres south of the community. Detours are in place.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Mounties say roads were reported to be icy at the time of the deadly collision.
