Worker dies after falling off roof in north Edmonton

EDMONTON – A man died after falling off the roof he was working on Friday morning in north Edmonton.

He was working for B & B Roofing Ltd. as the prime contractor for Sabal Homes. The man — believed to be in his thirties — was finishing on the roof when he fell off.

Police say the 911 call came in around 9 a.m. from a work site near 181 Avenue and 76A Street.

EMS arrived on scene and took the man to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he died.

Occupational Health and Safety officers have been called out and will investigate.
