HALIFAX – Fire crews rushed to Devon School on Fredericton’s north side after a pipe burst and flooded part of the school.
Firefighters were called to the school around 3 p.m. on New Year’s Day and were met with water coming down from the ceiling.
A fire spokesperson said one ceiling inside the school had come down and, while the extent of the damage is still unknown, there was lots of water inside.
The official said it appeared a pipe broke, either due to a malfunction or the cold weather.
Crews will likely be on scene for several more hours mopping up the mess and surveying the damage.
