WATCH: Preparations underway for annual Kelowna New Year’s Eve bash

KELOWNA – You may be still trying to work out your New Year’s Eve plans but Tuesday crews were already getting set up for the free public bash at Kelowna’s Jim Stuart Park.

There will be kids’ activities, free hot chocolate, skating and three live musical acts will take the stage. The event is free and designed to be family-friendly.

“Free is important so that everybody can participate,” says Festivals Kelowna executive director Renata Mills. “That seems to be our niche is reaching out to broader sections of the community [and] creating events that everyone can attend.”

The event is expected to be capped off with fireworks at 9 p.m.
