Winnipeg man dies in semi crash on Trans-Canada Highway

WINNIPEG – A 49-year-old Winnipeg man died after his semi-trailer tractor jackknifed and was hit by semi on the Trans-Canada Highway near St. Frances Xavier Sunday.

RCMP responded to the crash at 7:30 a.m. The driver was pronounced dead on scene.

The 24-year-old from the second semi was uninjured.

Alcohol is not considered a factor in the collision but icy roads are believed to have played a role.

Officers continue to investigate the crash.
