An electrical fire on a Canada Line train near Aberdeen Station caused smoke and sparks this afternoon, but no one was injured.
It happened just before 3 p.m. Saturday. Smoke and sparks were visible from the street and nearby apartments.
The transit corporation says supervisors and transit police were on site monitoring the situation and early findings indicate there was an electrical fault.
There was no service between Richmond-Brighouse and Aberdeen station while TransLink crews dealt with the situation. A shuttle train travelled between Bridgeport and Brighouse Stations for several hours.
