RCMP investigate 16-year-old’s death on Siksika First Nation

SIKSIKA, Ab – RCMP are investigating the death of a teenage boy on the Siksika First Nation.

Officers were called to a home on the reserve on Thursday evening over reports of a fight.

When they arrived, police found a 16-year-old boy lying on the ground outside the home.

He was unconscious, and although EMS attempted to revive him, he died at the scene.

Friends and relatives are identifying him as Chase Bigtobacco.

Police say there is no evidence to suggest his death is gang-related.

It appears he died due to stab wounds, but an autopsy is tentatively scheduled for Saturday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gleichen RCMP at 403-734-3056 or Crime Stoppers.
