CALGARY – Police have determined a bizarre discovery in Fish Creek Park is not connected to the disappearance of a Calgary woman.

Photos of a woman were discovered attached to trees in the provincial park earlier this week.

Officers were alerted to the pictures by Fish and Wildlife officers, and spent two days scouring the area for clues.

On Thursday, police announced that after a thorough investigation they had determined the pictures were part of an art project, and not related to the  disappearance of 25-year-old Shannon Madill (Burgess).

Madill was last seen by family at her home in the 1900 block of Spiller Road S.E. around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 27th.

Her family later reported her missing on December 1st.

The woman pictured in the photos had her face covered by flowers and her hair, so investigators were unable to immediately tell if it was Madill.

Anyone with information on Madill’s whereabouts is asked to contact Calgary police or Crime Stoppers.
