WINNIPEG – A woman was injured in a school bus collision Wednesday morning, the Winnipeg School Division said in a news release.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital in stable condition after the collision at Selkirk Avenue and Parr Street at about 8:30 a.m., police said.

“We’re working with the police traffic unit in their investigation to determine how this happened,” said Radean Carter, a spokeswoman for the school division.

The driver is shaken by the incident but the children, who were quickly transferred to another bus, seemed largely unaware of what had happened, she said.

Counsellors spoke to the children and will take a note home with them letting their parents know what happened, Carter said. The note will ask parents to keep an eye on the children and let the school division know if they feel their children are affected.
