Kelowna crash sends SUV flipping

UPDATE: RCMP say the driver of the SUV was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Cooper but her vision was obstructed by a stalled semi in the middle of the intersection.  The woman was issued a ticket for failing to yield.

 

KELOWNA — The intersection of Harvey and Cooper in Kelowna was the scene of a spectacular two vehicle crash.

It happened at around noon today, involving an SUV and car.

Witnesses say the SUV was heading north on Harvey when attempting to turn left onto Cooper.

The SUV was hit from the side by a southbound car in the HOV lane, flipping the SUV into the air.

“the SUV did an end-to-end and at least one barrel role before landing on its side. I helped bust the back window to get the girl out and make sure she was okay.”

The two occupants in the car — a male and female — did not appear to be injured.

No word yet who was at fault.
