Altona Police Service member arrested in child pornography case

WINNIPEG – RCMP have arrested a member of the Altona Police Service in connection with child pornography.

On Dec. 4, 2014, the RCMP Winnipeg major crime and internet child exploitation units helped the Altona Police Service investigate allegations against a member of the Altona Police Service.

Officers arrested and charged a 33-year-old man from Altona with voyeurism as well as making and possessing child pornography.

The man has been suspended with pay from the Altona Police Service and was released from custody. He is scheduled to appear in Altona Provincial Court on January 26, 2015.

The name of the accused is not being released at this time to protect the identity of the victims, who are under the age of 17.

RCMP are currently continuing their investigation.
