MONTREAL — The Quebec singer, Luck Mervil, is facing charges involving the sexual assault and sexual touching of a minor.
According to the allegations, the charges involve a teenage female victim and relate to an incident that took place in Montreal in 1996, when the well-known entertainer was 29 years old, and was allegedly considered to be in a position of trust or authority.
The 48-year-old did not appear in person at the Palais de Justice in Montreal, but was represented by his lawyer, Loris Cavaliere.
His trial is set to start on Feb. 23.
