Grey Cup 2014 brings transit changes and road closures

Festivities for this weekend’s Grey Cup will be in full swing and with the celebrations also comes road closures and transit changes.

To accommodate the Grey Cup Parade on Nov. 29 there will be bus service detours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with portions of Burrard, Smithe, Dunsmuir and Granville streets closed to traffic.

Due to the road closures, the 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 14, 16, 17, 20, 22, 50, 135, 160, 210, 211, 240, 246 routes will detour.

For SkyTrain users, transit supervisors will be monitoring demand and run more service if needed.

Translink is advising SkyTrain users who are planning on heading to the game to avoid line-ups at ticket vending machines by purchasing tickets ahead of time.
