Toronto Hydro sending crews to New Hampshire to help restore power after storm

Phil Pang / Global News

TORONTO – About 25 Toronto Hydro workers will head to New Hampshire today to help restore electricity in the state.

New Hampshire was hit hard by snowstorms on Wednesday and Thursday, leaving about 178,000 customers without power.

Public Service of New Hampshire said that number had been reduced to about 114,000 by early Friday morning, primarily in Nashua and Manchester.

Toronto Hydro is sending about 25 staff to the state, including overhead power line workers.

The utility is a member of the North Atlantic Mutual Assistance Group, which had requested help from member utilities to deal with the storm along the U.S. east coast.
