WINNIPEG – A former Manitoba cabinet minister who questioned Premier Greg Selinger’s leadership says she is considering whether to run for his job.
Theresa Oswald was one of five ministers who resigned to sit on the backbench earlier this month after saying Selinger should consider quitting.
She says a number of people have asked her to run for leader and she is — quote — “reflecting” on it.
The NDP is working to set ground rules for a March leadership contest that Selinger asked for and intends to run in.
Selinger has said he plans to stay on and lead the NDP into the next election in 2016.
Another minister — Steve Ashton, who ran against Selinger for the leadership in 2009 — is not ruling out entering the leadership race.
